How the math works
Step 1. Convert vial size to mcg. 1 mg = 1,000 mcg, so a 5 mg vial contains 5,000 mcg of peptide.
Step 2. Divide total peptide (mcg) by BAC water added (ml) to get concentration in mcg/ml. Example: 5,000 mcg ÷ 2 ml = 2,500 mcg/ml.
Step 3. Divide your target dose (mcg) by concentration to get the injection volume in ml. Example: 250 mcg ÷ 2,500 mcg/ml = 0.1 ml.
Step 4. Multiply ml by 100 to read it on a U-100 insulin syringe. 0.1 ml = 10 units.

What is peptide reconstitution?
Reconstitution is the process of adding bacteriostatic water (BAC water) to a lyophilized (freeze-dried) peptide vial to turn the powder into an injectable solution.
How do you calculate a peptide dose?
Divide your desired dose (in mcg) by the concentration of the reconstituted vial (mcg per ml). Concentration = total peptide (mcg) ÷ BAC water added (ml). The result is the volume in ml to draw. On a U-100 insulin syringe, 1 ml = 100 units, so multiply ml by 100 to get syringe units.
How much bacteriostatic water should I use?
Common choices are 1 ml, 2 ml, or 3 ml per vial. More water makes each unit on the syringe smaller and more precise; less water means smaller injection volume. Most protocols use 2 ml for a 5 mg or 10 mg vial.
What is an insulin syringe unit?
A standard U-100 insulin syringe is graduated in 'units' where 100 units = 1 ml. So 10 units = 0.1 ml, 25 units = 0.25 ml, and 50 units = 0.5 ml.
